Neighborhood Planning Meeting

  • 04 Feb 2014
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Diggs-Latham Elementary School, 986 Hutton St.
You are invited to attend a community kick-off meeting for an update of the South Central Area Plan adopted in 2003. The kick-off meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Diggs-Latham Elementary School, 986 Hutton Street, from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM (see flyer).

An Area Plan generally contains information about the Plan Area's existing conditions and recommendations for guiding future growth and development. Citizen participation is an important part of the Area Plan process, and multiple opportunities for public participation exist within the Area Plan process. The community kick-off meeting is an opportunity for City-County planning staff to receive initial input from all residents in the area on how they perceive their neighborhood issues, problems, and opportunities. The issues and opportunities identified at the meeting will be used by planning staff in making recommendations included in the update of the South Central Area Plan. After the kick-off meeting, three additional meetings are anticipated in March, April, and May 2014.

Please contact Project Planner Marco Andrade, (336) 747-7057, if you have any questions about the kick-off meeting of the South Central Area Plan Update. If you would like to see more information about Area Plans and what they are about, please visit the City's website at www.cityofws.org/planning. A draft summary of the existing conditions in the South Central Area Plan will be available online for viewing and downloading prior to the February 4th meeting.

Please help us to spread the word by inviting your neighbors or forward this e-mail to anyone you think might be interested in attending the meeting. Thank you!
